Configuring vaccination

Use cases

The shortcut can be used in two scenarios - either with one person giving the vaccination and another creating the account, or with the billing provider giving the vaccination.

In the first case, the following assumptions are made:

  1. The vaccination appointments are booked in a separate appointment column to the billing provider. For instance, a separate column named "influenza vaccination" is used
  2. The billing provider is not the person that delivers the vaccination to the patient
  3. The vaccination is given by the person logged into the best practice account and is using the first macro
  4. The billing provider also needs to document notes to identify that the vaccination was given. This is done under the providers own Best Practice login and then the account is created under that provider - this is the second macro
  5. The appointment is bulk billed
For this case, configure one shortcut for the person giving the vaccination with the notes and immunisation details, but do not select the "bill visit", or "move for billing" checkbox. Configure another shortcut for billing with the notes and select the "bill visit", "close" and "move for billing" checkbox.

In the second case, the following assumptions are made:

  1. The vaccination appointments are booked in a separate appointment column to the billing provider. For instance, a separate column named influenza vaccination is used
  2. The billing provider is the person that delivers the vaccination to the patient
  3. The appointment is bulk billed
For this case configure a shortcut for billing with the notes and immunisation details and select the "bill visit".

In order to prepare for a vaccination clinic, the following button layout is recommended. On the main screen folders for each doctor are created, then for each vaccine, then the injection site (for example left/right arm) have their own hotkey buttons configured.

This configuration can be saved in its own file and started from there, separate from your usual configuration of hotkeys.
